Laid Off after getting I-485 Recipt and EAD Card

Hi,

One of my friends was laid off (actual lay off date is Nov 09) after getting the I-485 receipt and EAD Card. He didn\'t complete six months after applying for 485. His company mentioned that they will not cancel the Green Card Processing?

What should he do now?

(a) Can he work for a different company on the EAD Card(provided he gets a job).
(b) Should he apply for a fresh H-1 and forget about the current GC Processing?

Please help us. It is very important for us.

Keep the 485 going

I think s/he should keep the 485 going and apply for an H-1 with a new company. I am wondering if anybody has the same issue. I am certainly in the same shoes. Lets compare notes and see if their is any lawyer out there that can represent us if we get motion to deny.

If your friend gets a similar job soon everything should be OK hopefully! Y not consult a good lawyer ? Good luck
