Laid off after CP interview?

This post is for a friend who finished his CP interview and left for the US as well. Two weeks after reaching there, his company laid him off and he lost his job (the same company he'd worked in for two years prior to his CP interview). Is his status ok? Can he just look for a new job? Is there any formality he needs to complete so there are no INS issues?

Your status should be fine. Its Ok for INS if you are laid off. You may have problems if you resign. Not sure if you need any docs for INS submition. You can contact your immigration lawer for any docs. Visist immihlp.com, you have some awesome info.

Don't worry

Two of my friends got laid off after there CP. Infact one was laid off before the interview and another on the same day he joined after the interview. They don't have any problems. So don't worry....

.. but then company gave him employment letter and he was on payroll(ofcourse without pay), so ..?????
