Hi!
My company plans to lay me off 108 days into my 485 process. I am eligible for a severance package which will go on until Feb 2002 in which time I would have "just" finished 180 days since my I 485 RD .. My questions are as follows.
1. AC2 180 day rule is w.r.t the RD or ND ?
2. Although my official termination date is Dec 14, I will be on my companies payroll until Feb 2002. Can I use the severence pay period towards the 180 day rule ?
3. Is there anything my present employer needs to or des not need to do in order to not distrupt my I-485 application.. I might be able to negotiate something with them.
4. Can I start working for another company (similar job function) with my EAD after Dec 14 or should I wait for the 180-day period to elapse.
4. Any other ideas/ suggestions on how I should go about preserving my I485 application ?.
