Labour from Kansas and Chicago

Dear Immigrant Friends, I have a situatioin which goes like this. I have a job offer from a VA based company for their KS location. Currently I work for a pharma company in CA which has filed my RIR petition in April 2004. Now, the GC processs through CA is very slow and the state labor dates here are Aug 2003 and the Federal are Jan 2003. I am wondering if its wise to take this job offer up in KS and move there and then get hold of a local Lawyer to file the RIR from there and the dates in KS are May 2004 for State Labor and for Federal it comes under Chicago so Aug 2003. This company I will be joining has agreed to let me either use their legal counsel or hire my own but I will be paying for the process.

I appreciate any advice in the above sitution. Is moving to KS a wise move for GC process? OR you think it would not make much difference timewise. Has anyone faced a similar situation? I tried to search archives on this forum to check KS cases but there seems none. Thanks in advance for any help.
Good Bless you!

No Way

Kansas is a bad move if you want a LC. There is one person in Topeka, Ms. Burrage, who handles all the LC and she has requested an extra photocopier (the SDOL only has one copier in their facility) and she is not allowed to work weekends to work on the overload of applications. I was in KC and filed when she took over. The previous gentleman, Mr. Bonner, did not start any new applications because he was retiring (which was a smart move on his part). My LC took 2 years but only one week at the KC DOL. I hope this helps.

Thanks!!!

Hi Rafiq,

Thanks for the advise. I really appreciate it! So what you are saying is KS is certainly a bad move since it will be longer for the LC to clear, I think I understand that part. But what you wrote about Kansas City(KC), I couldn't follow. Do you mean to say that if I move to KS, I should file my case from KC so that it clears faster? That is what I thought that any case filed in KS should ideally go through KC and not Topeka.
To be precise my company is located is Lenexa, would you think my case would go to Topeka or Kansas City(KC)? I am presuming you mean Kansas City by KC.
Thanks for your help and advice!
