Labour Certification not recieved from DOL

I am new to this forum.

I got my recipt no for I-140 ( filed in july, 2001) recently. EAC-01-205-xxxx.

My attorney say the case is pending because VSC has not recieved the LC and is waiting for it from DOL.

My understanding was the LC is filed along with I-140.

Could anyone help?

I think it means that your lawyer has not received the LC approval notice from DOL and filed your I-140 without it. By DOL regulations, your lawyer has to ask the INS to request a new LC approval notice from DOL. Unfortunately, this takes time but there is no other way to do it.
Anyway, I think you should inquire with your lawyer what exactly happened? You need to make sure that your case is not stalling because of poor communication between your lawyer and INS.

... how long does it take to receive the approval from Boston DOL once I know the approval date?
