I have read in the forums that you can get some third party surveys done. Do a third party survey on what a typical salary for your position in your area would be. If the survey results are less than your salary, you should be in a good position to challenge the prev wage issue.
These are just my views.....there is also a thread for NOF on labor....you might want to read through that....

University does pay less than private sector

Similar situation here.
I am also working at university in IT position.
Public sector payment is way less than private sector as you know.
Anyway, your salary is high as a position in university.

If you see other university's pay, it should be about your salary range or even less. Maybe you can ask your lawyer to show DOL to other universities salary range in your position. I hope this work.

My LC (TR, EB3) is pending in Dallas. I might have similar situation as you.
Let me know how your case goes.
