labor and H1-B expire after 6 y.

I have 2 more years on H1-B. My labor petition has been filed last year and based on current processing times, it will be processed some time next year.

I would like to know how I could protect myself from not having to leave the US after H1-B expiry, in case there is any problem with my labor petition within 365 days from H1-B expiration.

From your time line, I do not see the need to avail of the 7th
year extension based on the LC.

It may be necessary in later part of the GC process, and you can
seek the 7th year extension.

What happens to your LC has no bearing on whether you can
stay till end of your 6 year term.
