labor and 140+485 from different companies

Hello there!

I heard from one of my friend that his friend had applied and got labor from company X and then laid for...after 6 month or so he found another job with company Y and applied for 140+485 (using labor approved previously from company X)....and finally he got green card!!

So my question is....Can you use approved labor from one company and then 140+485 from another?
