L2 visa extension denial without L1 decision

I am on L1A and my I-94 and visa expired in June 2008. My extension was filed on time, and there was an RFE. The RFE was responded to, but no decision has been communicated to me yet on my application?

But my wife's L2 extension application (I-539) got a denial notice and the reason being "principal alien's extension denied".
The denial is dated 26 Sep, and we received the letter on Oct 1.
But i have not any response yet on my primary L1A extension, and the USCIS website says "Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed".

Can anyone explain what this possibly could be? Is it possible that this could be an error, or is it taking more than a week for the USCIS website to get updated for my status?

Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Could be an error. Did you call USCIS customer service? You may be able to get more information on the status of your L-1A extension and seemingly premature decision on your wife's L-2 extension.

What information did USCIS ask for in the RFE?
