L2 visa applied ..trying H1 sponsorship

My spouse is currently holding an L1B visa. I am planning to change my visa status to L2. If I do so, it will take around 90 days for my visa status to be changed to L2. During these 90 days, if I get an opportunity to work for another organization that is ready to sponsor my H1B visa, will I be able to work with them if they file for my H1B?

The reason I am asking this question is that I am not sure if I can file for H1B visa when my case for L2 visa is pending.

Can you help me provide me this information ?

This year's quota has been filled. The earliest you could apply is April 1, 2009 for work starting Oct 1, 2009 unless the employer is cap-exempt.

I already have an H1B visa. I would try for an H1 transfer.

My question is, if I apply for L2 visa and when my L2 case is pending, can I apply for H1 transfer?

I already have a SSN. If I get an L2 visa, can I immediately start working or do I need to wait for my EAD?

Also, if my H1B visa transfer happens after I get my L2 visa, will my status change to H1B?
