L2 travelling to Canada

Hi All,
I am in the US on L1B and my wife is on L2. We are planning to visit
Canada for 4 days . My wife wishes to stay longer for another week.
1.What documents does she require while re entering the US from Canada ( alone ) via flight.
2.Is it better for both of us to travel back together.

Please advise ,
Thanks
Nitin

All she needs is an L2 stamp in her passport which is not expired (please check the date). She should have no problem traveling alone. BTW: for short trips to Canada it is not necessary to hand in your I-94 card unless you want to do so on purpose to obtain a new one when entering the US. If the expiration date on the I-94 is still far out you can hold on to it and show it again when you need to show it to an immigration officer.

And what happens when travelling to Canada(for month) on L2 Visa while waiting for EAD? Does it increase waiting time for EAD/cancel EAD application?
Thank you for advance.

Your spouse can travel separate from you whenever she wishes and as long as you maintain a valid status. When traveling for a month or so, she needs to hand in her I-94 and enter on a non-expired L2 visa stamp. As far as I remember you do not abandon an EAD application by traveling in and out of the US. Please check with an attorney if you have one available.

Billy__bob, thanks a lot.
If you have a time for one more question:
In case I've got L1A and my job in USA will start next two monthes, can I enter USA using my L1 for couple of days before I start to work? I mean just visiting my friends there. My concern is that L1 is for relocation, getting SSN, etc. - so, if I just come for few days, still not doing all this, then leaving for Canada, then enter again - may it cause to problems? I'm going to travel between USA and Canada only(either by car or by airflight).
