L2 to L1B

My wife is on L2 (EAD) and working for a firm in US.
They want to change her status from L2 to L1B. Is this possible ???

It's only possible in case she has worked with that company in her home country for a year in the last three years, according to the L1 visa rules.

I don't see a reason why she would want to switch. With an EAD she has unrestricted employment authorization so she can work for anyone she likes. When on L1 she would be only allowed to work for the petioning employer.
