L2 renewal and EAD

My wife's EAD expires in the end of Mar 05 and her visa in Jul 05. We are currently in the process of applying for visa renewal. Can we apply for EAD simultaneously and if so will the receipt date for interim EAD be considered from date of application or date of approval of new I-94?

If there is a delay anticipated, I am planning to have her EAD renewed for the remainder of her current I-94 i.t until Jul 05.

I am in a similar position. My EAD expires this July and we have just about applied for our visa extension. We are wondering too if we can apply for the EAD with a receipt of the visa extension filing. Would this be possible?

Also, like in the case of EAD, will an interim EAD be provided if it is 90 days since application for renewal of EAD?
