My wife has a L2 visa and is planning to change her last name (after marriage) in the Passport at the Indian Consulate in NY. But her US visa is valid till 2009. The consulate people said they will give one new passport with the new name in addition to her old passport.
She needs to go to India and come back. Should she get her visa restamped with the new name or she can still enter with the existing stamping?
Also, I am applying for visa for my child. For that, will the US consulate in Chennai look for at the mother's name in her Visa (as the new name would be different than the one in visa)? Will there be any problem in that?
