L2 EAD renewal with L1 receipt

Hi Everyone,

My EAD expires in April 2004 and by the time my husband's company applies for his L1 renewal it might be close to my EAD expiration date of April 2004. I am working right now and don't want to lose my job. Will i have a chance of getting approval if I apply with a copy of my previous EAD and just my husbands L1 receipt.

Yes sure you can apply for EAD with L1 receipt and apply for renewal of EAD online. It may take sometime for you to get renewal EAD but I think you can continue working if you have EAD receipt from INS

Hi,
I saw this link and I have the simmilar issue.
SKT, can you please confirm if my wife can work on receipt notice for EAD renewal. Her EAD is expiring on 02/05/05.
If yes, can you please forward me the link from GOV sites, where they state this.

Hi Vikas,

I was on L2EAD and I applied for EAD with L1 extension receipt and I got it apporved. Did your wife apply for renewal of EAD? If yes, then you can get Interim EAD after 90 days of Receipt notice date in case your wife did not get EAD within 90 days.

Once you have receipt from BCIS, I think your case is pending and you can work. If application is rejeted, then you cannot. I don''t about about any such rule. But when you apply for L1Extension, you can work till the time you get approval and you may get approval after expiry of previous L1 status but you are not out of status. Same logic should also be applicable here as long as you have your receipt notice date before the expiry of EAD.
