L1B\H1B Approval Notice(I-797A) - which one takes precedence? Urgent Help Needed

Hi,
I have an urgent query regarding my visa stamping. Will appreciate if anyone could provide any assistance. Here is the brief:

1) I am currently on L1B Visa ,currently in fifth year on the L1B status. My L1B is due to expire next July. I received approval notice(last extension for the 5th year) for my L1B Visa earlier this month. The validity of the same is 06/25/2005 to 07/25/2006. Based on this approval notice I had booked my Visa Stamping appointment in US Consulate, New Delhi for October 26th, 2005 and accordingly booked my India tickets (6th October’05 – 7th Nov 2005). My Family is already in India and they have their returning tickets booked for Nov 7th, 2005 as well.

2) But since my L1B Visa was maxing out (completing 5 years this December’05), My H1 B Visa was filed earlier this month by my employer(same who file my L1B ). And I received the approval notice for H1B Visa last Monday. The validity of the same is 10/01/2005 to 09/16/2006.

3) My Query is can I still go ahead with the scheduled L1B Visa Interview on 26th Oct, 2005 in New Delhi? Or will My H1B visa approval notice, the validity of which starts on 1st Oct,2005 will render my L1B Visa status void and hence I ca not go for L1B Visa stamping on 26th Oct,2005.

4) I checked with TSS Visa Services and looks like I cannot modify the Visa category in interview appointment detail so as to use the same interview slot for H1B Visa stamping.

5) As such, Please suggest what is the best option for me? Even If I try and schedule a interview for H1B Visa stamping, I am not getting any slots available before Feb’06 in Chennai, Jan'06 in New Delhi? If I do not get a interview slot at least a week before Nov 7th, 2005, I may have to reschedule my tickets for self and family and end up paying $1000 extra. As such this is the last option I would like to consider.

6) Will it be possible to get an emergency visa interview appointment sometimes in October end for self and spouse? As such what is the procedure and what is needed from my end for the same.

Please let me know and advise what would be the best course of action for me.

Will appreciate any assistance.

Thanks in advance
