I am currently on L1A Visa expering by end of 2011 and I am considering applying for Green Card sponsored by my employer and would like to know if my case is eligible for green Card application. I am on a Long term assignment from my home country to USA. However, my HR / payroll is in my home country as per my appointment letter and my salary is paid there . I don't get paid anything locally in the US. Would this create a problem with Green Card processing ? Is it required that I should be on the local rolls to be eligible for applying for a Green Card ?
