L1A to GC-need Help/advice

Hi,

I am working in US on an L1A visa and my GC was filed in October 2005, the attorney filed only the I140 at the time and didnt file the I485, giving a reason that it was not possible to file both at that time(not allowed to do concurrent processing).

The I140 Receipt date is Oct 11 2005 and the priority date is Oct 11 2005.

I have got the I140 approval notice (I797-Notice Of Action) on Feb 3 2006 and now I am in a dilemma as to when can I apply the I485 for my case.

1. Can I apply my I485 anytime now since I have the I140 approved, so I can get it approved as well?
2. Do I have to wait for some specific month or date before which I can apply I485 this year?
3. Why didnt my attorney apply the I485 along with the I140 together?
4. How do I know what is the priority date for the 1485 for my case?

I hope someone can help me here to advice me properly and help me take the next steps asap.

Thanks for the immediate response, but I am confused how do I know the priority date for my I485 since I have not even filed it along with the initial I140 in October 2005? I only filed the I140 in October 05.

People have been telling me that only when I file the I485 will I know the priority date for it to become current and then only it will be processed?

Since you mentioned that the current priority date is July 05,does it mean those people who filed their I485 in July 05 are being processed now or does it mean that people who filed their I140 in July 05 can file their I485 now?
