Hi,
We have been here almost a year on my husband's L1A. I and my kids are on L2. Our visa runs out on 31st March and so we have been putting together our extension documents together with our immigration lawyer. He has now told us that our case is quite weak and doesn't look like it will get approved for an extension. He also told us that if we get denied we will have 180 days from the decision date to leave the US. I have briefly spoken to another lawyer who has told me that the 180 days is not true whatsoever and that if the application is weak not to submit it and perhaps look at other option. We are frantic with worry as our kids are all in High school and our eldest is due to graduate next summer but we are getting conflicting advice. Can anyone help? Thanks.
