Hi,

I have a valid L1 visa that will expire Dec 03. I have already filed my I485 (ND 05/03) and awaiting my AP and EAD. I have been reading this forum regularly. From what I understand is that once you file I-485, my L1 visa is still valid and I can travel out of the country as well.

But I am getting conflicting info from my company attorney. He told me that my L1 visa is now NO LONGER valid since I have already file my 485? Can anyone here tell me which version is correct?

Also do I have to renew my L1 visa once it expires Dec 03?

Your H1/L1 is still valid and mere filing of 485 does not invalidate the visa.

Well it is better to continue on H1/L1 visa if an option exists. Also to be safe you can also apply for EAD/AP(which you have allready done).
