L1 visa and Part Time Student

Hi, I have a friend who would be getting his L1 visa soon. Now once he arrives in US, he wants to pursue a part time MS. Would it be possible for him to do his MS part time while being on L1? Or would he have to wait till he receives an H1?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The answer is yes.

He may study part time but he must be employed by the company that sponcered L visa

He is also free to do anything in his spare time, so long as he does not earn money or get into anything illegal

Thanks Sue! Appreciate your help. He will be employed by the same company that's sponsoring this L1 and I hope he doesn't get involved in any illegal activities
