L1 validity after quitting company

Hi,

I work for indian company A and is in USA on L1.Now i have got an offer in its sister concern US based company B for which i came here on L1.Is it possible for me to resign from A and join here in company B without processing new L1 as B is sister concern of A and for both the companies VISAs are issued from same HR authority.Will my L1 be valid when i resign from company A

Please help.
 
No. Unless your L-1 is based on Blanket in which company A, company B and the company you came from are listed as approved affiliates, company B has to file a new L-1 petition on your behalf and get an approval before you start working for company B.
 
But the criteria for filing L1 is completing atleast 1 year in the native country before deployment in the US. In this scenario how would company B file L1? How much is the processing time for a new L1 assuming there is a waiver on the 1 year requirement?
