L1 to H1 , H1 STAMPING AT CHENNAI

Dear Friends
My friend came to US on L1visa. worked in L1 for nearly a year. Then applied H1B thru an (consulting company) employer . Got h1 approved by INS and has started working on H1 for the past 6months. Now planning to go to India for marriage. so he has to get it stamped. He is trying for dates in chennai consulate in the beginning of next year .
Is there any risk involved in his case ? Please advice.
