L1 to H1 Conversion Issue

Hi,
I am currently in US on L1-B VISA from last 15 months. I also applied for H1 visa in 2007 before coming to US. I got my H1B approved last year. I am planning for a vacation in Jan-09 and visiting INDIA. During that period of time I am planning to stamp my H1 VISA.

1. Will my L1 VISA get cancelled as soon as my H1 VISA get stamped?

2. If No, Can I come back in US again on L1-B visa and Then apply for change of status to convert my L1 to H1 when I found the new job?

3. Can I keep working on L1 until I can get a new job and then resign from my current L1 employer.
 
1. Yes
3. Actually that is the way it should be. Don't quit your L-1B job until a new employer gets an approval from USCIS to work.
