I'm currently on an L1-B visa and my project is getting completed on June 30th. After completion of my project, my company would expect me to go back to my country. Since my wife also works here on an L1-B, I would like to continue to stay here and find another job.
I'm applying for other jobs and I'm getting interview calls. But even If I find a job, the main bottleneck appears to be H1-B Visa Cap.
Since, H1-B Visa Cap has already reached, I'm wondering if I can apply for an L2 Visa and subsequently apply for a Work Authorization ? Can I apply for it right now while continuing to be on L1 so that I will have a work authorization by June 30th. Is it legally possible ? What is the earliest possible time I can apply for an L2 ?
