L1 / L2 extension

Hello friends,

The extension of my L1 visa is approved, and the extension of L2 visas for my family is currently pending.

We planned to go out of the US to get visa stamps soon, but I94s for my family were sent together with I539 applications.

In this case can they go out of the US? If yes, can they get new L2 visa stamps at an embassy? We plan to come back before the old visa expires.

I would appreciate your advice.

As long as the USCIS has approved your L-1 extension petition, and your family members get out of the U.S. before their current I-94s expire, I don't see any problem. Bottom line is that your family members don't need their own extension approval notice prior to applying for their new L-2 visas. All they need is the evidence of your L-1 extension approved, and their qualification as your family members.

That's what I wanted to know. Thank you very much for your reply.
I was afraid that we could fix the appointment at the consulate only after we got approval for I-539, which might take a few months.
