Hello Folks,
I have been reading the posts in this forum and it has been greatly informative. I am in L1A visa in US for Company A right now and Company B has applied for my H1 now (I have a Master's degree from US). Once the petition is approved, I am planning to go to India and get the visa stamped for me and wife from US Consulate there. My questions are:
1. I have W2 from my F1 visa days here in US, but no paystubs for my part-time work. But for the period in L1 visa here (only in L1 from Apr '05), I don't have paystubs/W-2 as my company pays me in Indian rupees in India and they will prepare my tax returns later next year when they have to. Will having Indian payslips instead of US paystubs affect my H1 stamping anyway ? Also in Indian payslips, the pay in rupees would not be in exact equivalent of US dollars as my company pays for my stay and tax directly here in US. What do you guys think ?
2. The company B I am joining is a small company with just 3 employees. They do consulting work, and not typical body-shopping consultants or contractors. I will be their direct employee in their office and will work for different clients when the projects come up. This is like any US consulting company such as IBM, Accenture, etc,. Do you guys see any problem in this situation as it will be my first H1 stamping ? I have already had F1, B1, L1 visas though.
3. Do I have to mention the countries I had transit visas for in the visa application forms for stamping ? I am asking this because I had a transit visa in UAE once when I was traveling by Lufthansa Airlines.
4. I am from southern terriroty in India. Does that mean I should apply only from Chennai Consulate ? I got my last L-1 visa in March 2005 from Delhi consulate though. What do you folks think ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
