L1 -> H1 & Gc

Hello

I am currently working in the US on L1B. My GC was filed under EB3 category in Jan 2005. Another employer wants to file an H1B for me this year.

(1) If I go ahead with the H1B processing, and later decide not to join the sponsoring company, does that impact any of my future visa processings? Does it have any effect on my current GC processing/approval?
(2) If I go ahead with the H1B processing, and later decide not to join the sponsoring company, would it have an effect on my GC processing? My I-140 is in processing now.
(3) If I go ahead with the H1B processing, and it is approved in Oct 07, can I go to my home country and come back to the US on my current L1B?
(4) Is there any constraint on the validity of the H1B? Is it ok if I join the other company sometime in '08 per my convenience and keep working for my current company in L1B?
(5) Looking at my GC situation (EB3/I-140 underway/filed in Jan 2005), when would be a likely time when I can really get my GC?

Looking forward to your responses. Thanks!
