Hi, I am in USA since from Jan 2007 on L1 individual visa. My I-94 is going to expire on 13 Sept 2009. My employer, rather than applying for extension, has asked me to apply for new L1 Blanket to get it stamped from Canada.
When I search on Web, I find that -
1. L1 Blanket is only eligible for Computer Science background professionals. If so, will I be having any problem for L1 Blanket since I am a Mechanical Engineer?
2. L1 Visa eligibility says that - "All L1 employees must have been employed by the your company outside of the USA for at least one of the three years preceding the transfer unless the beneficiary of a blanket." However, in my case I am already in USA since from more than 2.5 years so doesn't seem to fulfill this requirement.
Do you think I am will have any problems with NEW L1 Blanket?
