L-1 to H-1

Hi ,

I know it is legitimate to get converted from L-1 visa to H-1 visa and I can start working for the new employer .

Do I need to go to my home country to get my visa stamped ?

I would like to know whether I can transfer my H-1 to another employer even before my visa is stamped.

How many days it is taking for stamping in India (after these new restrictions and policies)

Did anyone faced these situation recently ??

You can begin work as soon as you receive an I-94 indicating the new employment and status has been approved. The visa stamp itself is merely a travel document.
 
L1 to H1

I am in the same boat and have got converted from L1 to H1. Meaning I have an approved H1 visa now and I continue to work for the same employer.

The question is my attorney is saying that I cannot send my passports to St.Louis for stamping since they can only do revalidations and not the actual visa. The only option I have is to go to a counsalte to get it stamped. Is this true???

Please throw some light on this.
