L-1 to H-1 switching

Am currently working here on L-1 and the project is likely to go for another 2-3 months.
If another company sponsors my H-1 now and say while awaiting approval at INS,my current company files extension for L-1,will there be any problem
in this?

L1 to H1 wont create problems.

But what happens if the L1 extension gets approved after the H1 gets approved? - wont the valid staus be L1 again?
