L-1 After 6Yrs on H1 + 1 Gap year

Hi,

I got transferred to UK on work permit through intra company transfer after expiration of 6 yrs on H-1.
I would like to come back to US after spending one year outside of US.
I suspect that i may run in to H-1 Quota issue if i try to come on H-1.

Is L-1 a good option if my company is willing to do transfer back to US?
Also, my Labor Certification is still in process. What is the best way in this situation.
