well. first of all thanks to all the memebrs who shared their thoughts and being in this forum all through this ordeal.

------it was good , to be here in this forum , it boosts your emotional quotient.

well folks here is Viva Voce'
we walked in to office at around 9 45 am, left home at 9 am , thanks to god at one moment we felt how will we open the garage door, jeeeeeeeeeeeeeezz their was no power in the morning , we prayed to god before we left to on ourway to interview, after 15 minutes, an officer called in , ushered us in to his room, what was surprising to me he is friendly and at the same time also very official, after taking oath , he asked my wife how we met , what happened next, and then checked the I 485 and then went through , kind of surfed through the application, suddenly popped up and said Taxes, -Thanks to website-------we had 2005 married and filing jointly, the moment he had seen , he just took the so called big red stamp( as quoted by dear buddy ari4u) i could see approved---------after that everything was like as if your parachute is opened up in the mid air and your descent is now kool, you know folks untill then i was trying hardly to move here or their ,
but thanks to ari4u for his meticulous interview preparation folder options , guess what i took what ever is useful
---------folder 1 originals, and then taxes, folowed by utility bills and then followed by helath insuances , after that all miscellenous recipts for valentine dinner, wedding gift checks, cards we sent to each other.
-------he then took my passport and took my i - 94 an d then samped i 551 processed for and temp perm resi untill 3 months, then we submitted supplemental form i 693 ---which usually we are supposed to downlaod and get attested with your immunisation history from a medical doctor , which my attorney or the doc did not do it , ( luckily i had a duplicate copy of my medical exmaination with me, so he took and xeroxed himself ) and then he gave us a form stating 2 yrs temp erm signed by both of us--
we acknowledged him,and then he agin ushered us back till the exit.

folks , thats all we walked slowly out of builiding and hugged after we were in our car , went for nice lunch----

plus points -----thanks to forum its the most updated things you will get here , you bet ur attorney-

negative points
for me
wrong choice of attorney--( we haeded for interview with out him, )

lessons learned:
90 percent of people who are in this forum , dont ever take or hire attorney from the place you were born . suggestions would be young energetic , one who finished his law in Usa, WHO ARE UPDATED .

LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT :
SCRUTINISE YOUR aos FORMS
EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU THEY ARE FILED BY YOUR LAWYER
ATTORNEY IS ALWAYS BUSY-THE LEGAL SECY THINKS SHE IS THE ATTORNEY -------DOES NOT EVEN CARE WHAT SHE FILLS, ONE SMALL ERROR CAN MAKE YOUR FRUSTRATIONS AND Patience,

----so please thorougly check your forms before you file , i dont know whtehr i should ask the legal secy written excuse letter or not idont know,
but folks , i really had a hell of tiem with attorney.
--------
i guess if there is any workshop conducted in , i would like to visist and let the people know what are the things we should before we hire a laywer ,
a good back ground check of attorney, and also the secy qualifications

what i did these apst 7 months

----silently admired this webiste and forum,
------completed reading whole USCIS website
-------and also LAW books , legal sectreary should be well educated, he or she should throughly check spell mistakes ( what the F he or she thinks i dont know) --- forgive me god.

well,
once agin
Thanks to Rajeev khanna, and also one of my best buddy ari4u and laso niot to mention rex1980 and all those innocent bystanders like me who were tossed up and down with emotions with thier attorneys--------i know we cant name them in this website
i guess if any one can help me if their is website where we can rank the lawyers iam sure it would help lot of people.

and atlast i thank god for being with us and also wish everybody in this forum who are gonna attend interview and also the ones who already have best wishes and happy married life

Yay !!! Congrats to you !!!!! What a feeling, right ???

I agree with you regarding lawyers. This whole process is kind of "easy" as long as you read entirely every forms, you can do it on your own... And this forum is sooo helpful !!!!

Enjoy your new status !!

Ema.

robioradha,

thanks for your elaborate interview experience and congratulations to you! :)
Where was your interview?

Also, if you can tell in which DO you had your interview, i can update the interview thread.

Congratulation :)

I totally agree about the point you made regarding lawyers.

I came here, initially to the Citizenship forum, and what I've learn in a couple of months surpasses by far what most of the immigration "expert" lawyers know.

My EX-lawyer, told me to file a second N-400 since the original one was pending for so long, helplessly waiting for FBI's Name Clearance. I've done that. The result: I've lost another $400 with absolutely no result, moreover, with the potential to complicate things further

He mentioned a law suit, Writ of Mandamus, telling me that is going to cost me $20,000 to file in the "9th Circuit Court of Appeal in San Francisco"!!!

The imbecil even didn't know that the filing should be in the US District Court where you belong to...not to comment further on his modest fee of $20,000

When I've first heard, the term "Mandamus" I've started the net search, about this strange word which besided the fact that sounded close to "Nostradamus" didn't mean anything to me :D

Then I've discovered this forum and the great thread of Publicus about litigating CIS.

Learnig a few things, I went back to my lawyer and I asked him what he considered will be the best option for me: "Writ of Mandamus" vs. "Petition for Hearing under 8 USC 1447(b)"...the stupid moron never heard about the 1447(b)....

At that point I said: That's it! And in a month I had my papers ready to sue CIS in Federal Court, "pro se".

"Unforunately" 3 days before February 1st, when I was planing to go to court and file the lawsuit, I got a letter from FBI sayng that my Name Check was completed.

I don't regret that I spent more than 2 weeks to prepare the complaint for court and then I have to trow it in the green garbage container, what I've achieved in this time is invaluable:

1. The knowledge, worth one million bucks ;)

2. Self confidence, from now one, never, ever CIS will intimidate me, and I can fight them, anytime, anywhere ;)
(Not to mention that I became an American citizen and from now on the s.o.b.'s from CIS can, literally, kiss my @$$)

3. I learn that I can prepare any immigration docs without a lawyer, therefore the papers for my parents I put them together myself (of couse with the selflessness help of the members of this forum :) )

Conclusion: IF IT WAS UP TO MY LAWYER, MAYBE TODAY I WAS STILL WAITING FOR THE OATH, AND GOD KNOWS HOW MANY MONTHS OR YEARS FROM NOW, AND WITH A BIG HOLE IN MY POCKET

No wonder, one of the favorite American jokes is the one saying that "10,000 lawyers on the bottm of the ocean...it's a good start"
:D :D

Well, congrats to our fellow forum member and the great interview! And I have to agree about the lawyers. I was going to hire one because I thought it would take too long to prepare the forms, but you know what? I am glad I didn't. My process has been smooth so far and I didn't spend as much as I would if I had hired a lawyer :)
