Koenig - Any update on your case?

Unfortunately no progress whatsoever.
After the case status inquiry was finished the online message says my case will take 400-450 days to process. Looks like my case went to the back of the line!
I spoke to the Congressional aide about it and he said he has heard nothing back. He said all the relevant TSC people are enjoying the holiday season, and to call back in a couple of weeks.
So, at the moment, I am waiting for a new fingerprint notice to come. Hopefully once I get this things will go a little quicker.

I can't believe that they would put your case at the bottom of the pile. The notice for your 140 has the RD on it. You should use that to push the Congressman to get your case approved. The processing date for 140s is currently Jan 2004. Your 140 was filed sometime in 2003. You should be raising hell. Although the online status says that the case was received back sometime in late 04 the notice is what you should go by.
I am afraid that my case might suffer the same fate and I am trying to do everything I can to avoid such a situation. My company is filing an inquiry with the local Congressman. I am also planning on visiting the Miami office sometime in January.
On a more pleasant note, Happy Holidays to you and your family. I think I will try to forget all this mess for the remainder of this year and start this fight again in January.

PS - A setback is just a precursor to a comeback
(In our situations there is nothing more apt than this phrase)

Happy New Year.
On New Years Eve my wife got a new FP notice in he mail. With luck my notice will arrive in the coming week and this means our files have been pulled and are being worked on.
Look like contacting my Congressman and Senator's offices oiled some rusty cogs into motion. Unfortunately it looks like concurrent filing has gone out the window, but we shall see.
Has your company sent letters to your House reps yet?

As for my case, because of the holiday season the letters have not gone out yet. My company has assured me that the letters will go out no later than the second week of Jan. That should have some impact on my case. I will keep you posted.

I am planning on visiting the office this Saturday and getting the FP done. The scheduled date on the FP is 15th February. I am not in favor of waiting another month. I think you should try and get an early FP as well.
Lets hope our cases move smoothly from here on and we get our approvals soon.
I will send you a message after my FP is done. You do the same.

Early FP denied
My FP notice scheduled me for 2/11/05. My wife and I went to the Miami ASC today to see if we could do it early.
Unfortunately it was a no go. The manager said we were not allowed to do it earlier than the date on the notice; but we could do it up to 87 days after that date. The place was not even that busy!
Oh well. Try again in a month.

I will try going on Saturday. It will be great if they take us in early otherwise we'll just have to wait another month. I could never have imagined that this whole GC process will be so frustrating. Anyway, atleast we have our FP notice. They can't retract those now
