I called USCIS this afternoon around 2PM. I was compltely stunned in disbelief when I heard the Agent on the other end that "My I-485 case was APPROVED yesterday 7/1/04." I was quiet for awhile & I really shed some tears. I asked her how come my case in their site hasn't been changed yet. She said, it will take awhile for them to update it but they will. She said it doesn't say anything that I need to submit for requirement. She asked me to wait for the letter in the mail. Since I couldn't believe this news, I called back after 30Mins or so. Another agent answered & she said the same thing. They sounded happy too with the good tidings they brought to me.
So, do you really think this is TRUE? I called the 949#, if it is true, WHAT's THE NEXT STEP? PLS ADVISE & enlighten :confused: :rolleyes: THANK YOU!

If 2 officers told you that you were approved, I'd say it's probably true. Next steps are to have a fantastic celebration this long weekend, consider yourself fortunate, and wait for the paper to arrive in the mail, then get your passport stamped, wait a little more and get your GC in the mail. Congratulations!

I don't think I can help you, but if I were you, I definitely participate in campaign #15, because you have already waited for almost 3 years.

I would say congratulations and wait for the approval notice before you go for stamping. Other than that nothing much you can do. Offcourse getting smashed drunk is an alternative. :)
 
If I were you I would be taking one extra shot of bourbon this weekend.

Thanks guys! I will wait for the notice in the mail since the website has not changed. The message is still about my Finger Print received (1st only, no 2nd). A friend said that since the USCIS didn't ask for any requirement what they do is just send the Green Card. Is this true? or do I still have to have my Passport Stamped? If so, can I have it stamped in any USCIS branch?
