Kashmir / Desi Bartender : Scanning process

Hi Kashmir and Desi bartender,
I am a small time contributor to Kashmir's scan for the last 2 months.
I am limited to scan 200 cases in 2 days because of the scan limit. I did come across Desi Bartender's Note about his scanner that will use proxies available and lets one person many cases at time.

If this true, why not Kashmir contributors adapt this scanner and generated more data more frequently.

May be I have misunderstood the capabilities of the scanner.

Please tolerate my ignorance on these proxy servers and scanner details.

Thanks,

Pinnacle_man.

No reason why one cannot download the Project Anaconda scanner
to do a scan for more than 200 cases.

In fact Project Anaconda Scanner takes Kashmir project file as input
and outputs Project Kashmir compatible summary file.

My initial suggestion was to allow a volunteer to scan a month of
data using proxies. I am still game for this scenario. If you are a
volunteer interested in running a Project Anaconda scan to scan
couple of months download the new version of Project Anaconda
Scanner which I will upload here this weekend. Then ask me for
input files for Jan 2002 and Feb 2002. If you do these two months
I will do March 2002 and April 2002. Even if we cover four months
that helps us get an idea about how much CSC is really processing.

I posted version 1.0 which was downloaded by about 50 people.
I did not want more people to download 1.0 as it had a few bugs.
All these have been fixed and the next version is ready to be
uploaded tomorrow.

I've been scanning using Kashmir's input files, it was always 200 cases at a time. If I tried to do 200 more, I got a TooManyInquiriesException - so I did 200 at home, 200 at work (or at home using VPN to my work to obtain a different IP), which was limited to 200 cases a day, average. How do you plan to get round the CIS limitations?

Please send me info, I want to start doing more scans.

RuxRux,
My program uses proxies. A version of Project Anaconda scanner was
already released and is being used by many people.

All the details are in the Readme in ZIP file.

pinnacle_man, I will post the new version today in this forum. So you can download and use that.

Whenever you want the version search for "Project Anaconda Scanner and Sources"

Hey desi-bartender:

Quick question -- is it possible to daisy-chain proxies ?
As in lets say am at work - I need a proxy to reach out.... so can I chain the set of proxies such that after I hit my company proxy, I'll go to one of those free proxies and then do the scan ?

Let me know.
Thanks!
