K3 Visa Checklist

I've sent an email to the US Consulate in Dhaka asking some questions about the K3 Visa check list. Maybe someone here can also answer the questions. I have pasted the email below.

Thank you

INS Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hello

My wife received a letter from the consular office along with the K3 visa check list and DS-156 form. We have three questions.

1) 4th item on the checklist states "DS-156, 157, 158 Nonimmigrant Visa Application (two for each applicant)

I am assuming DS-157 and DS-158 are not included because they do not apply. However, the requirement is two forms per applicant. She only received one. Is she to make a photo copy of the form? Are there any special requirements when she makes copies (i.e. both pages on one sheet front/back)?

2) 10th item on the checklist refers to "Evidence that Applicant will not become a Public Charge"

Is I-134 a requirement or will items such as Letter of employment, recent bank statement, and pay stubs be acceptable?

3) 12th item on the checklist refers to "Police Certificates"

According to http://travel.state.gov/reciprocity/Country Folder/B/Bangladesh.htm, police certificates are not available for Bangladesh. Could you please clarify whether or not this is needed in our case and what we should do with this checklist item if it is not required.

I appreciate your time in answering these questions for us.

Thank you

hi again

i can answer your affidavit of support Q and the police clearance Q. but the forms i dont remember which one my husband was asked to fill out. i assume if they only gave you one and require 2, you can photocopy the form and fill out a 2nd or even photocopy a completed form. for the affidavit of support the 1-134 is acceptable.. the 1-134 form will request you attach your employement letters, bank letter, and detail any assets that overcomes the public charge issue, it also gets notarized etc. the other 1-864 is the form you will have to provide to uscis once your wife arrives in usa and you have the interview here for aos. the forms are very similar yet only the 1-864 is a document that allows the govt to seeks reimbursement if the spouse does in fact become a public charge.. see sight below, helpful stuff on affidavit of support

if the country you used to reside doesnt provide police clearance than you are not responsible to secure it. for example my husband used to work in saudi and in saudi you cant get a clearance either. the embassies are aware of which countries do and do not provide clearances.
