Hi everyone,

We have applied for K1 visa in US which is under processing in Mumbai office in India.
I would like to know wat is the approval rate for K1 visa? i would also like to know wat questions are asked during interview.

I have my interview scheduled in Oct 2008. Please let me know whether the grant of the visa is communicated on the same day or later. We would like to fix a wedding date based on the grant of visa.
Please let me know ASAP. Thank you all in advance.

Hi there.

Here is a link to individual people's experiences of their interviews in India. Youll just have to go through them to get to the Mumbai ones, but theres quite a few there and the individuals have posted what questions there were asked. Hope that helps:

Heres also a good list of questions that a March interviewee got asked at this embassy.

1) Who is in US?
2) For how long he has been in US?
3) What he does for living?
4) How did u meet?
5) How many times you have met him? --- we have met only once. No red flag.
6) Where did you meet?
7) For how long he was here?
8) Did he come to meet you or he had some work?
9) When did you get engaged?
10) How many people attended the engagement? ---- Less than 10. (My family and Fiance). Not a red flag either.
11) what do you do? Company & Profile
12) Why are not getting married in India?

Its also been advised to have strong proof of your relationship for your interview (though many peaople havent been asked to show this proof).

As for the visa receipt itself....theres been different experiences. Some people have been able to request to pick up their visa the same day, some have been given this option without even asking, some have been told to collect it the next day, some people have had to keep phoning up and it has taking in excess of 2 weeks to recieve it. Therefore it always a good idea not to make any concrete plans until you have the visa in hand just incase there is some kind of delay.
Good luck.
