K-1 visa Divorce before getting a first green-card

I came to America with K-1 visa. We get married and sent papers to the INS for my first green-card. Unfortunately this marriage is unhappy and I want to divorce before I get first green-card. I met another man (he is an american citizen) we want to get married after my divorce. Do I need to write something to the INS (that I start a divorce proces)? Will they deporte me or How long I can stay in America (ligaly) after I divorce? Can I get married with another american cityzen and apply for a green-card with him? I live in Nebraska and I can not get married after divorce 6 month. Can I get married earlyer if I move to another state? What would be better in my situation - my husband file for divorce or me?Please help me.
