Simple guide to K-1/K-3 visa:

Many people confuse these two with each other.

K-1 or Fiance(e) visa is designed for foreign national (outside the US at the time of filing), who are planning getting married to US citizen. US citizen must apply from US.

K-3 or spousal visa is designed for foreign national already married to US citizens. The US citizen again must apply for their spouse.

In both cases foreign national must be outside the US in order to qualify for any of the above.

Not at all. Provided that there are no issues (such as overstays/CIMTs etc) then using an attorney/consultant is a waste of money. Yeah- they may give people peace of mind (though from my readings, a number of attorneys have actually delayed a visa application/missed documents etc), but by using an accurate guide, K1/K3 visas are relatively straight forward to do it yourself (without having to waste $$$$$'s).
