Just When You Thought You've Seen Everything!

So, I just got my checks cashed. On the checks they print
the application receipt number.

So I got my wife and I's (they are sequential) and typed
them into the USCIS site.

It says they received the applications on Oct 13th which
is great EXCEPT I ONLY SUBMITTED MY CASE LAST WEEK!

I guess the moral of the story is don't rely too much on the
USCIS website!

Could you possibly be entering someone else's receipt number? Did you get receipt notice yet? Mine had a WSC$ followed by digits. It is not the receipt #.

I don't think so. The moral of the story is that don't rely on the letters and number they write on the check. Even in my case it was different from my actual receipt number. Have some patience and wait until you get the actual notice.

Hmmm. I think the moral is that the USCIS is a complete cock-up!

I actually got two receipt notices: one is mine and another for
another person.

This actually happened before to me, I got two set of finger print
notices for the I140 and thought one was a duplicate. On careful inspection
I noticed that the names were completely different.
But its a different name this time.

We shouldn't be too hard on the USCIS, it must be crazy dealing with all these applicants but still trying to keep bad guys out.
