Just talked to an IIO

JUst called NSC. Was lucky this time. Tried three times and got through. Talked to an IIO in less than one minute.

Confirmed they had updated my address (wrote to NSC 2 months ago).

The IIO refused to check my wife's info because of a "Privacy Act". Stupid.

No real info about my case. She said my ND was NOV 2001 and they are now processing AUG 2001 (ND???). So I got to wait for three months. Stupid again.

If they are going to use the PRivacy Act it should be used all the time. It is very inconsistent. I have inquired about my wife's case in the past without problems... they should follow their own rules.

I too wrote to NSC couple of months ago to change my address and called to check a couple of weeks ago. The IIO verified that my address was updated (I was surprised that NSC actually took action on the G731 change of address form that I had sent!), but citied the 'privacy act' for my wife, but added that he can use his discretion to help me out - so the deal was that I would tell him the new address and he would say if it was ok. If it wasn't, then my wife had to call back to change. Fortunately NSC had updated her's too. It was actually a nice experience talking to him, in the sense that we were able exchange a couple of laughs over the phone on this issue!

The privacy act did not apply to my minor son......
