Hi guys, I've been lurking around on this forum for quite sometimes. I found some very helpful tips and thank y'all for the contributions.

Situation: I sent I-130, petition for my mother, back in April 2013. Now I'm working on a separate I-130, petition for my father. So I pulled up the old PDF file of my mom's I-130, hopefully I can speed up the process to fill out I-130 for my dad. Then, I realized that I've made a colossal error on section C - question 17 -. This section is where you fill out all the relative's son, daughter, wife ..ect.

Problem: I erroneously filed out the name of my sister, (beneficiary/mom's daughter), her last name was correct, but not the first name. I mixed up the first name with her middle name.

Question: Now that I want to file for my dad I-130, I will have to complete section C- question 17 with accurate sister name. I would assume they enter all the info in the system and eventually they will find out the naming discrepancies. How would I go to set the record straight ? Because eventually I want mom to sponsor my little sister to come to the state too.

FYI: mom's I-130 is in the initial review stage, CP processing

appreciate all inputs.

That piece of information is not critical to your mother's I-130 processing. She can correct it at her interview. Have her bring a note to the interview to describe the correction.

But even if she didn't correct it, it's unlikely to cause a problem. You provided your sister's middle name (albeit in place of her first name) and correct last name, and presumably also provided her correct date of birth, so it's very likely they'll accept that she's the same person when your mother files for her.
