I'm new on this site and been reading a lot, back and forth on the forums. I'm in need of advice on what to do on my current situation. I recently got married to the girl of my dreams, and we been married for seven months now.I have a beautiful duaghter with my lovely wife. So back in 2001 my father filled a I-130 on my behalf , he's currently a Permant resident. The I-130 he sumbitted for me was approved ,but being the sitaution the approved letter recevied had a later date(june 12th). I currently know that you had to file before April 30th to be approved back when applications were being accepted. Due to two factors going now, one being I dont' know what my next step is to do and second i check on the USCIS home page ,type in my current case number (USCIS has currently upgraded their website last time i checked) and now says I have a I-90 which didn't say before . How come? Yes I had a i-130 approved and later recevied a visa approval as well. My wife and I are trying to file together. We haven't file anything yet. i have submitted a G-639 form( freedom of information) to see if i can notice anything. After that I planned to schedule an interview with an immigration officer to see if I can apply due to the fact my approval letter was mailed back to me late. So I can remain in the United States while my case is pending with my family. What should I do? Should i go away and schedule a interview. Please help , I currently hold tight grip to one job I have and desperately need the advice I can get on the situation I have to make the next step for my family. God bless

When is the receipt date of the I-130? It was before April 30, 2001, correct? Why are you worried about the approval date in June? It's the filing date that matters for 245(i) eligibility.

Was your father a US citizen when he filed for you? If not, did he become a US citizen before you got married?

Yes I had a i-130 approved and later recevied a visa approval as well.
What kind of visa was approved? Are you inside or outside the US now? If inside, legally or illegally?
