Just got GC, layoff looming. Need advice.

I got my GC last week. Today I heard a rumor that my company could have a layoff in the coming weeks. My question is, do I need to worry about my GC if I happen to get laid off? Are there any long-term consequences, for example if one decides to apply for citizenship in the future?

Thanks. Does it matter whether the GC was obtained via adjustment of status or consular processing?

I was wondering if I can change my job now.
After my GC-CP I have been working with the sponsoring company for 9 months.
Before GC I was with them for 2.5 years.
Is it ok to change now? The new offer is not better in terms of money. But I still want to switch.
