Hi all
I've got my first letter this week. I am confussed about what is next  . I am in the USA with a H2 visa, do I send forms 230 Iand II and form DSP-122 that came with my package to the Kentucky Consular Center? or to my local USCIS for change of status? My wife thinks this is the order
1-send forms to Kentucky
2-wait for confirmation
3-after confirmation send copy of documents to local USCI together with payment
4-wait for schedule interview?????

Please help!!!! Thank you :)

What country are you from? Just curious if Asians have started getting NLs yet?

1. Send DSP-122 to KCC
2. Send DV payment to PA
3. wait for the letter from KCC
4. file I485 in October or when your number current
5. FP
6. interview

Good Luck

I suggest you to do ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS.
Pay the 375$ for KCC and do the medical examination and be ready to file when your number is current.
What you can do is go to your local USCIS office and ask them to check your papers and DO NOT FORGET to attach the CONGRATULATION LETTER FROM KCC.
I heared that consular processing takes less time then AOS, but you are the only one to decide what to choose: consular processing od adjustment of status.

Good luck and follow the portal. It was very useful for all of us.

It depends. For me, AOS took exactly 3 months from file to approval.. It went very smoothly.. Also, it cost ~$1K..

"second letter"

Hi everyone,
my husband and I just got notified that we won DV-2007, and opted for consular processing. I have a few questions:
1) When are we likely to receive the so-called "second letter" from KCC? Our number is EU 17XX. I see that last year, 3000 visas were ALREADY AVAILABLE for Europe in October. Is it possible for our number to become current earlier than that?
2) Once we get "second letter" how long typically to the interview- days, weeks, months?
3) Is there some way to opt out of consular processing and do AOS instead? I still think we made the right decision for now but what if circustances change?
Thanks for your help and good luck!

why does small number make AOS preferable?

I was hoping with CP we could get an interview as early as OCT...there is another twist to this. My husband is from Moscow, Russia. Russia is banned from the lottery this year. So he claimed my county- Bulgaria, to enter (you can claim your spouse's country). But we will pick up the immigrant visas in the Moscow embassy. I suspect there will be very few applicants in Moscow, and our interview date should be early.

Anyone had any experience with claiming spouse's country and CP? Also, how is CP in Moscow this year?
