Hello Folks.
We just came back from our interview in Mt Laurel NJ DO. Wife is completely done..her oath at 3PM. She said very simple process as everybody saying here and also her case very st.forward..not even a single ticket/dmv fine in last 8 years of here driving history. Officer has been very nice to her..6 q's were right and he stopped. One funny thing my wife shared was...He asked why she wanted to be a citizen..and my wife said she could apply for fed jobs.
Right away, the officer laughed and said...you don't want to be like us :)
He also said abt how fast her time line was and commented that even they do the things fast..they still won't get a raise :) well I have no comments and leave it to every one here.

About my interview...
The lady knew even before I went in, I will be not able to do the oath today. But she said we will finish the interview. The problem is with "How the name was in my passport" in comparision to all other doc's like GC, BC, etc etc.
She said all the way some how my name is being different from the Indian PP and it needs to be fixed at this point or her job will be in trouble..!!

I am using the name as in my GC and all my other docs like BC, SSN, DL reflect the same. I was thinking I was fine..well not really !!

She did some paper work for the name change and finished my interview and said they will do a background check again with the name on the pp since what they did was based on the N400 appl name.

One other thing...
Regarding the "citation". Yes I did say that I got copule of tkts in the past and paid the fines..blah..blah..
She striked yes for the question on N400 and wrote details of the tickets like year, place and type of the tkt underneath. I didn't had absolutely no proof of paying those tkts and she didn't ask me any thing except that she updated the appl and took some addl signatures.
I realized I forgot to mention one addl ticket I had back in 2005 for cellphone and no belt. Not sure if that is ok !!

Other wise everything was fine. Went in around 8:45 and out by 9:45.

Now I suppose I am back to scratch with the name check thing. Did any body had a similar experience can please share their timeline etc.

Thanks to every one who have been supporting and providing valuable advice in this forums. I will still be lurking here for any q's.

Thanks again.

NBK.

Name Check Pending after Interview

Hello Every one
Please c my earlier thread I have posted today.
http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=278894

My Interview is done..but got the N-652 with...
"A decision cannot yet be made about your application pending name check."

My Name was different from Indian passport compare to N-400, GC and every other doc.
They want to do a name check again with my actual name on the Indian PP.

They will let me know when I shld go for the Oath. My wife is taking Oath same day ie. today.

Anyone in the same boat waiting or any experiences Please share.

Thanks You guys for all the advice and support.

Actually, now that you've formally had your interview and was given an N-652, you have become eligible to compel the USCIS to make a decision within 120 days on your case, by virtue of a writ of mandamus, if you so choose to take that path.

I was under the impression that because USCIS wanted to avoid lawsuits for pending namechecks they were now not offering an interview until the namecheck was complete. Yours may have been an unforeseen incident. Either way, by law USCIS has to complete the decision within 4 months or you can sue them.

I'm not a lawyer so you might want to consult one though.
