I called NSC this morning, and spoke to a polite officier. I asked for the status of my I-485, which has been pending since Jan 2005. He very politely told me that he is prohibited from telling me any security check status and case status information over the phone (why??), but he could email me the information.
He took my email address and chatted with me for a few minitues of non-work-related stuff, then hung up.
I checked my emails after the phone call, and did receive an email for the case status, which says,
"Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or
notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."
Is this something good? I have been stuck in NC for years. An InfoPass three weeks ago also confirmed with me that my case was with an officer since July 11, 2007, and I'll receive result in 30-90 days.
Anyone can shed some light to the message above? Does this mean that I'll see some light at the end of tunnel soon?
