These are cent percent true guys,
1)Years back, when I was in school, I had a French pen-friend called Sonia Fouceau (hope the spelling is right). We used to write to each other every other month... I used to write to her in my broken French (was just learning French then) and she used to write to me in English, to the best of our abilities... We never fought nor criticised each others efforts, but derived pleasure from the fact that we were trying...
2)I am from Goa and I know personally how Goa suffered in the 80s when there was lots and lots of strife, vandalism, hooliganism, you name it.. about deciding which should be Goa's state language, Konkani or Marathi. People died, property destroyed, losses everywhere... We just made it to my cousin's marriage that time, hiding from all the goons(genuine citizens are least bothered about languages).. And the controversy still goes on..
Wish we were children again..
Anyways, on that note guys, I take your leave from the Language Issue..
P.S.: I have been a hypocrite, by posting again on languages when I said that I wouldn't. couldn't help myself, but had to tell these incidents to you..
