"Get 50 people to donate $50 each" campaign
--------------------------------------------
Just donate $50, nothing more. This is a campaign to get 50 people (from all the forums together) to donate exactly $50 each. Based on number of users, i have set the folowing targets for each of the forums as follows :

VSC forum ----- 23 people
CSC forum ----- 12 people
TSC, NSC and Complaint Forums ---- 5 each (total 15 people)
-----------------------------------
Total contributors 50
Total target collection 50*50 = $2500
*CURRENT BALANCE = $17,620 (as of 5/26/2004)
Since the amount($50) is very less, i request people who havn't contributed yet, to join this campaign and make it a success.
It is time to go to low budget campaigns

Note : After you have contributed, please post it here.

Please give up inaction

I have started this campaign in all the forums at the same time. See how fast VSC members are responding in reaching the target. I always admire CSC forum for their active participation in most of the campaigns. You guys have done very well in fund collection also. About 30 people have contributed from this forum. It is only NSC and TSC forums that are staying completely inactive in fund collection drive. But you guys are different. Please help us reach the target fast. we are asking for just $50 contributions. See the response at VSC forum In the following thread :

Common guys, don't you all want your GC's to be approved fast. Trying some option is always better than sitting and hoping USCIS will approve your case.

Many of you have not contributed yet thinking that God will solve the problem or thinking that nobody can solve the problem or some body else will fight against the problem. Take a minute and think about it and you will surely realise that all the three guesses are bad ones. There is no alternate to contributing for immigrationportal.org . This is not a marketing pitch, just a sheer frustration at seeing people facing all kinds of problems at the hands of INS and yet not joining the cleary defined fight against these delays. If any of you have not seen our action plan, please click on "CLICK HERE TO CONTRIBUTE" link in my signature.
Those of you who want to contribute now, may please do so by going to www.immigrationportal.org

Thanks. We need 7 more people from this forum. Those who haven't joined already, please join today.

Those who haven't contribted yet, please do so NOW at www.immigrationportal.org . Don't get relaxed by seeing FP2 or RFE notices. In most of the cases, nothing happens after the FP2 or RFE. Please keep the fight going till the backlog reduces to under an year.

The total fund collected is $21,000. Those who haven't contribted yet, please do so NOW at www.immigrationportal.org .
Note : We are actively looking at the possibility of revising the action plan to start our activities with available funds rather than waiting till we reach the target amount (by which time all of us here may get citizenships )

If you start doing something, and show some results, then people will be less reluctant to contribute. I mean, come on, when you buy a car, before you write the check, you want to see the car first!
Do something, show something and then you will see the change in people's atitudes.

Unfortunately, we are not buying a car here. All the people who are working for immigrationportal.org are purely volunteering their time and energy for this effort. It is just the mentality that is in question. Everybody wants the benefit of faster processing but few people realize that it is only a collective effort that can move this mountain.

Again, how do you show results here? If you meant them as USCIS starting to process faster, then that has already started happening.

Maybe I am not catching the gist of what you are saying, but I am not sure how we can reduce a community effort to a business plan.

Would welcome others' thoughts on this.
